Cooperation between IFAC, CRP, CSUCA and Hcéres for the evaluation/accreditation of higher education in France and Central America.

Continuing on from the “France-Central America Meeting of University Presidents and Rectors” held in Costa Rica last September, Hcéres, along with the French Institute for Central America (IFAC) , the Panama Council of Rectors (CRP)  and the Central American University Council (CSUCA) , took part in the “France-Central America Meeting on the Evaluation of Academic Programmes and Institutional Accreditation”  on 7 and 8 November 2016 at the Universidad Latina de Panama.

The objectives were as follows:

  • to exchange information concerning working methodologies, evaluation processes and criteria;
  • to define possibilities for future collaboration and a road map for bodies carrying out evaluation/accreditation activities in France and Central America.

Projects in the pipeline include:

  • organising experience-sharing and training workshops for Central American staff on the topic of institutional evaluation, methodology and the development of dedicated guidelines;
  • organising regional training workshops in Panama in 2017, followed by the launch of joint actions for the evaluation of programmes or institutions;
  • drawing up a French-Central American guide on methodology, processes, criteria, standards and guidelines for the evaluation of programmes and institutions.
