Training course evaluations

The bodies subject to an external evaluation organised by Hcéres in 2016-2017 are as follows:

For each of these categories, support for completing the file and information on the documents to be provided is set out below.

 

Courses issuing a French bachelor's, vocational bachelor's or master's degree

The evaluation covers existing training courses (which have been operational during the most recent period), grouped
into training fields (coherent thematic training course groupings which enable the institution to communicate its strategy).
One file per training course and one document per field are required.

  • An evaluation file for each training course. This file should contain a self-evaluation report for the training course, appendices including tables of data, the RNCP sheet and the training course degree supplementary information. The characterisation and self-evaluation sheet for the international part of a training course is only required for training courses with a strong international dimension
  • An information document for each field

doctoral schools

Doctoral schools are evaluated via a review and projects approach. A single file should be submitted per school project for the next period.

  • An external evaluation for each school project. This file should include appendices with characteristic data and the table summarising numbers of people, supervision and monitoring of doctoral/postdoc students.

courses leading to a master's degree in 'teaching, education and training' (MEEF)

This evaluation covers the 4 MEEF master’s degrees issued by the schools of teaching and education (ESPE). A self-evaluation file is required for each of these master’s courses (if they have been implemented), plus a document per ESPE on the management of these master’s courses.

  • An evaluation file for each MEEF master’s course. This file should contain a training course self-evaluation report, appendices including tables of data, the RNCP sheet and the training course degree supplementary information.
  • An information document on the management of the MEEF master’s courses for each ESPE

•	Healthcare training courses leading to a bachelor's or master's degree (applies only to the 1st and 2nd stages of training in medicine, pharmacy, dentistry and midwifery)

This evaluation only covers the 1st and 2nd stages of training in medicine, pharmacy, dentistry and midwifery. A file is required for each stage of each stream. The file should be based on the file completion support notes but adapted to each stream. For the first stage, the file for each stream should include a section specifically for common first year healthcare studies (PACES) (this section is, however, common to the various streams, and should therefore be duplicated in each file, except for the people numbers table for each pathway).

  • An evaluation file for each 1st stage healthcare stream. This file should contain a training course self-evaluation report and supplementary appendices. This file should contain a PACES section common to the various streams.
  • An evaluation file for each 2nd stage healthcare stream. This file should contain a training course self-evaluation report and supplementary appendices.

Schools of Art training courses under the French Ministry of Culture and Communication leading to a master's degree (French national diploma in plastic arts - DNSEP)

This evaluation only applies to the schools of art French national diploma in plastic arts (DNSEP).

An evaluation file for each degree. This file should contain a training course self-evaluation report and supplementary appendices.

Hard copies to be supplied:

In addition to submitting files via the PELICAN platform, for each file, institutions shall submit hard copies of a selection of pieces closely associated with student work (2 copies, maximum of 3 different pieces per training course, the pieces will not be returned to the schools, and no more than 3 pieces will be distributed to the experts) to Hcéres (Département Formations, 2, rue Albert Einstein - 75013 Paris, FRANCE).

school of architecture

This evaluation covers French Architectural Studies Degree (DEEA) and French State Architecture Degree (DEA) courses.

  • An evaluation file for each degree course (max. 40 pages). This file should contain a training course self-evaluation report and supplementary appendices.

Please note for equivalent master’s degree-level qualifications: 

In addition to submitting the evaluation file via the PELICAN platform, for each master’s degree-level qualification file, institutions shall submit hard copies of a selection of written pieces closely associated with student work (2 copies, maximum of 3 different pieces per training course, the pieces will not be returned to the schools, and no more than 3 pieces will be distributed to the experts).
